Description

PACCAR MX (2004 Emissions) Fault Code: P2580 Turbo Speed – Data Valid but Too Low, Least Severe on ECU (D420) Pin (C87)

SET CONDITIONS:
The PCI ECU (D420) detects that the turbo speed is below 30,000 rpm for more than 20 seconds.

DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION:
This diagnostic runs when the engine speed is above 1000 rpm, and the engine is moderately loaded.

RESET CONDITION:
This DTC changes to inactive when the fault is no longer detected.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Exhaust gas leakage between engine and VTG turbocharger
2. Loose turbo speed sensor (air gap too large)
3. Malfunction on the turbo speed sensor wiring
4. Malfunction on the turbo speed sensor
5. Restriction in exhaust or aftertreatment system

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
1. Turbo speed is measured by the turbo speed sensor (F683).
2. Engine torque is reduced when this DTC is active.
