NOTE: The fault indicates the high idle regeneration (HIR) was aborted due to diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) inlet temperature not reaching the minimum of 270°C (518°F) to initiate dosing during an HIR. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will remain on until the fault is resolved or a successful regeneration is complete.

NOTE: If codes 3242-8 or 3242-20 present, fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. DOC inlet temperature sensor.
2. DOC inlet temperature sensor connector/harness.
3. Intake throttle valve failure.
4. Inspect exhaust system for leaks.
5. Check intake system (hoses, charge air cooler, etc…) for leaks.
6. Perform stationary regen.
