VOLVOUU All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: U010A00 PID: EMS Lost Communication with Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Module A

The EGR Valve operation is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM) using a pulse width modulated signal.  The ECU provides both the power and ground circuits. The EGR Valve assembly consists of a solenoid, operating a valve by hydraulic pressure provided by the engine’s oiling system.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Message missing on datalink (EGR Valve – Engine Control Module)

Observable symptoms
1) Loss of power

Probable cause
1) Connector
2) Supply wire to component
3) Ground wire between component connector and splice connection
4) Data link
