Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 3510 FMI 4 (MCM) 5V Sensor Supply Bank 2 Circuit Failed Low

Description

DESCRIPTION:
5V sensor supply bank 2 circuit failed high.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
Motor Control Module (MCM) 5V internal power supply.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Always enabled

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:
None

VERIFICATION:
Engine Idle (1 minute).

PROBABLE CAUSES:
Disconnect one sensor at a time. When code goes inactive, that is the sensor that has failed:
1. Fuel line pressure sensor.
2. Fuel compensation pressure sensor.
3. Engine oil pressure sensor.
4. Inlet manifold pressure/temperature sensor.
5. DPF inlet pressure sensor.
6. DPF outlet pressure sensor.
7. Intake throttle valve.
8. Camshaft position sensor.

NOTE: If none go inactive, disconnect the 31-pin connector on left side of the engine. If code goes inactive, replace the DPF pressure sensor.

NOTE: If you disconnect the 120-pin ECM connection and the code is still active, replace the MCM.
