Detroit DD16 EPA07 (2007-09) Fault Code: SPN 3713 FMI 31 (MCM) High Idle Regeneration Aborted – Low Regeneration Temperature

Description

NOTE:
The fault indicates that the high idle regeneration (HIR) was aborted due to the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) outlet temperature not reaching the expected target temperature to complete a HIR. If there are any other regeneration or fuel system related faults address those first. The CEL and MIL lamp will remain on until a fault is resolved or a successful regeneration is completed.

POSSIBLE ISSUES:
1. Low fuel compensation pressure.
2. Exhaust leaks.
3. Fuel leaks.
4. Sticking hydrocarbon (HC) doser injection valve (High doser line pressure).
5. DOC outlet temperature not responding.

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Low fuel compensation pressure.
2. Exhaust leaks.
3. Fuel leaks.
4. Sticking hydrocarbon (HC) doser injector valve.
5. High doser line pressure.
6. DOC outlet temperature sensor or connector/harness.
