DESCRIPTION:
The fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve position is incorrect.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
EGR position error.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Engine running
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled
TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
Engine idle
NOTE: If any other codes are active, fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. EGR delta p sensor.
2. EGR delta p sensor pressure port.
3. EGR delta p sensor harness/connector.
4. Check EGR system for leaks.
5. EGR valve actuator pull rod.
6. EGR valve.
7. Remove the EGR cooler hot pipe, EGR crossover pipe, and delivery pipe for excessive blockage.
8. Air inlet manifold pressure sensor failure.
9. Air inlet manifold pressure sensor harness/connector.
10. Charge air outlet and/or intake manifold temperature sensor and/or wiring.
11. Performed parked regen.
